Judge Christopher Morozin is an experienced, highly qualified judge and widely-respected lawyer with nearly 30 years of experience practicing law in Lake County.

Judge Morozin is a Lake County Associate Judge. He has served in the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court since being appointed in 2010. As judge, he currently hears cases in the Juvenile Court, focusing on child abuse and neglect matters, juvenile delinquency cases, and adoptions.
He has also heard cases in the Family Law Division and the Misdemeanor/Traffic Division.
Prior to becoming a judge, he spent his career in private practice for nearly 20 years at the law firm Soffietti, Johnson, Teegen, Phillips, Ortiz, & Morozin where he became a partner. He handled a wide variety of civil and criminal matters in Lake County and across Illinois, including family law, criminal misdemeanor, traffic, bankruptcy, real estate transactions, municipal prosecution, and general municipal law.
Judge Morozin is a member of the Lake County Bar Association and the Illinois Judges Association. He was a past Board Member for the CLC Foundation.
A graduate of Libertyville High School, Judge Morozin has been a Libertyville resident since 1974. He earned his bachelor’s degree in criminology and political science from Marquette University in 1986 and his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in 1990. Judge Morozin distinguished himself at DePaul University by receiving the American Jurisprudence Award in Bankruptcy, which is given to law school students for achieving the highest grade in the class.
Judge Morozin lives in Libertyville with his wife, Jenny (daughter of Bill and Lois Graham) and their four children; Kally (22), Shannon (20), Chris, Jr. (17), and Teresa (14), and two family cats. Jenny teaches second grade at Howe School in Beach Park, Illinois. They are long time parishioners at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Like Jenny, all three daughters graduated from Saint Joseph Grade School in Libertyville and attend or have graduated from Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein. Chris, Jr. attends Libertyville High School and he is actively involved in the Vernon Hills-Libertyville District 128 Special Olympics Program. Judge Morozin previously served as an assistant coach in both softball and basketball for his daughters. His children have been active in cross country, track, softball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and Special Olympics.
